Default October 21, end of the world?

I don’t believe a man could claim to know the rapture date. Harold Camping predicted that rapture will take place on October 21, 2011 . What are your views about him? Do you see him as a preacher?

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the father”. This quote is according to Matthew 24 vs 36. When will rapture take place? This is a question no one knows. However, Harold Camping believes rapture could be predicted. Harold Camping was born in Boulder, Colorado, United States of America. A Christian, a civil servant and a former Sunday School teacher at Alameda bible fellowship. He is the president of Family Radio. Family Radio was founded to preach the gospel via shortwave station, AM and FM radio stations and the Internet. Family Radio says Jesus Christ is the Chief Executive Officer of the organization and the employees and Directors are servants.Camping is known for his predictions on end time. He applies numbers to biblical events. He believed creation was in 11,013 BC and the flood in 4990BC. He believes there is a biblical calendar in Daniel 12 vs 9 and Revelation 22 vs 10. He predicted that on May 21,1988 ,judgement came upon the churches. On September 7, 1994 judgement continued on the churches and on May 21, 2011,judgement came upon the entire world.

do not have any part in the true gospel believing that the bible is already completed.

    · He believes God will not punish sinners beyond what is in Deuteronomy 25.

    · He believes there is a limit to God’s wrath.

    · He believes judgment of the world started on May 21, 2011.

    · He believes there is no salvation after May 21, 2011 except if God intervenes.

    · He believes people should not go to churches since the end time is near and God said judgment will start in his house. He encouraged personal study of the bible.

    · He believes in Annihilation (the belief that sinners will not go hell but they will be destroyed). Some annihilationists believe in hell.

Harold believes in the bible but I doubt if had taken time to read some verses or the bible

    · Matthew 24 vs 36: The time of rapture is not known to anyone. Even Angels don’t know the exact time. How could a man predict rapture accurately?

    · Hebrews 12 vs 29: Harold believes there is a limit to God’s wrath. Does he know God is a consuming fire that can destroy sinners anytime

    · Act 19 vs 20: Harold believes in annihilation, has he read that the devils and his false prophets would be cast into the lake of fire.

    · Hebrews 10 vs 25: Harold encourages his followers not to attend church again. Hebrews 10 vs 25 says “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;but exhorting one another and so much and more, as ye see the day approaching

    · Matthew 3 vs 2: “and saying, repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand

Analysis: ‘repent ye’ mean turn away from your sinful ways and accept Christ.

‘the kingdom of God is at hand’ mean the second coming of Christ is near. Why should Harold tell followers that there is no salvation through preaching after May 21, 2011 when the bible actually encourage preaching the gospel in preparation for the coming of Christ.

Prior to May 21, 2011 Harold Camping’s prediction was that rapture would take place on May 21, 2011.

Some of his followers helped him in “promoting” the prophesy by selling their homes and donating large sums of money. People sponsored billboards in countries like Jamaica, Lebanon, Ghana, Lesotho, etc to create awareness about the ‘rapture’. The phrase “end of the world May 21st” was the second most searched item on Google search as at May 19-20

In Vietnam, about 5,000 people waited for the “arrival” of Jesus Christ. Some sold their properties to pay transport fare. Harold Camping spent approximately 100 million dollars for information campaign.

    Harold Camping believes the following

    Number 5 stands for ‘ATONEMENT’

    Number 10 stands for ‘COMPLETENESS’

    Number 17stands for ‘HEAVEN’

    (Atonement X Completeness X Heaven)squared = (5 x 10 x 17) sq = 722,500

Christ is believed to hung on April 1,33 AD

    AD –April 1 2011=1978yrs

1978 yrs X 365.242 days (days in solar yrs)

    =722,449 days

    From April 1 2011- May 21 2011 =51 days

    51days + 722,499 days = 722,500.

Many reacted after the failed prediction. Camping did not speak to the media until 2 days later. His followers were disappointed with the failed prediction.

Harold’s words after the failed prediction

Harold Camping claims ‘rapture’ actually took place on May 21, 2011. He said the rapture was a spiritual one and God kept this from believers because of fear. According to Harold Camping, spiritual judgment had started on sinners since May 21, 2011. He said “Christ did come May 21, spiritually to put all of the wicked throughout the world into judgment.

Harold said people did not notice anything about May 21 rapture because it was spiritual. He said the physical rapture is on 21st October, 2011. This is exactly 5 months away from 21st of May.

Even Angels don’t know the day Christ will come, then the authenticity of Harold’s prediction is questionable. Harold Camping claims to believe in the bible but some of his teachings and beliefs are against the bible. Does Harold think God counts the way human beings count? He thinks 100 years in human counting is the same as God’s counting. Harold predicted and failed. Is Harold Camping a Gambler? Was his calculations wrong? He dated so many biblical events. How sure is he?

It’s so sad that people fell cheaply to his predictions. People sold possessions just to gamble about the second coming of Christ. It’s high time Christians took their stand in Christ. Do not be deceived! Man cannot predict the mind of God. God decides everything? Who do you seek? MAN or GOD? Is man omniscient? God is the only Omniscient. He knows the end from the beginning.

Do you believe the world will end in few weeks time? Do you believe God will dishonour his words by revealing the coming of Jesus Christ. Do you believe Harold Camping who failed in his predictions, hears from God. Do you believe in false doctrines? Do you believe in man?
