Default Signs of a cheating partner!!!!!!!!!!

Human instinct is a wonderful trait, a natural, presentiment of something positive or negative occurring, of which we yet have little or no knowledge. Coupling it with suspicion, leads to curiosity and the desire to seek the truth. Most of us find it hard to ignore instinct. Signs, tiny scraps of evidence, abnormal behavior all contribute to the desire to discover, and basic instinct, along with basic knowledge of what to look for, can uncover the deception and lies of another. Armed with that kind of knowledge, we can also avoid future negative experiences within relationships.

The evolution of technology has made it easier than ever for adulterers to hide their deceptive ways. From "in-private browsing" on computers" to handset pin numbers on mobile phones, the ability to secure private information has become as easy as boiling a kettle, which is why partners must learn new methods, to uncover potentially deceitful activity.

The following list has been compiled taking into account the opinions of ten women aged 25-37, most of whom have experienced infidelity on one, or more occasions since the age of 18.

    1. Mobile Phone Secrecy:

Mobile phones are a vital tool for the adulterer. Able to access instant messaging, SMS, email and social networking from one device means they can stay in contact by whichever method they feel to be most secure. The sure-fire sign that something is amiss is when a person becomes overly protective of their device, not allowing anyone to use it. Another indication is increased usage of a phone over a prolonged period. Sure, everyone has friends they keep in touch with, but if your partner displays signs of constantly checking texts, emails or social networking updates/ messages, it could be an indication of someone new on the scene.

Additionally, and one of the most commonly agreed is sudden changes in a person's casualness with their phone. An example is a partner usually leaving their phone lying around, and suddenly changing habit by carrying it everywhere. One woman in the group new something definitely wasn't right when her partner began taking his phone everywhere, including the bathroom.

    2. Deletion of Internet Browsing/ Computer History:

Unless you are actually looking for possible evidence on your computer, you will probably have overlooked the blindingly obvious, the browsing history. Adulterers will go to great lengths to cover themselves, including deleting or hiding any sites, conversations or incriminating places which could get them caught out. The development of "in-private browsing" ( a method of window browsing which does not get stored within the Internet History) has been a welcome tool for adulterers, as it leaves no evidence of their activities on a computer.

The easiest way to check if certain parts of the browsing history have been deleted is to simply open the history tab on your browser and check through. All activity is logged by day, date, week and month, therefore any gaps will become apparent.

Another significant sign is when things start disappearing from the computer such as downloads, programs, new music, or pictures. A partner may carry out a complete "clean" of the computer to remove incriminating evidence such as pictures or conversation histories.

    3. Sudden Interest in New Activities/Hobbies/Places to Visit:

When we become involved with someone new, we often alter our routines/habits/likes/dislikes to become more compatible with that person. Often, we adopt new cultural interests and try out new experiences, foods and activities. While you shouldn't take it as a given that your partner is cheating because they discover a love for gardening, you should be aware of any sudden, or excessive interest in pursuing multiple hobbies or trying out of exotic restaurants. If the pattern of behavior remains consistent, you should question whether your partner has done these types of things with someone else, or if they are learning them to impress someone else.

    4. The Make-over:

We're not talking a full on image overhaul, (although some men/ women do so), but subtle changes and improvements to personal appearance, or increased levels of personal grooming.Your partner may start wearing different perfumes, experiment with hairstyles or dress in clothing which isn't usually "them". Men often try to dress younger and women more glamorously when trying to impress. If they haven't communicated their desire to change, and don't seek your opinion, there could be a fair chance they are making the effort for someone else.

    5. Increased Social Demand:

Cheats almost always invent excuses, including fictitious engagements with friends or colleagues, as well as increased workloads. If your partner's two nights a week out with friends becomes a more frequent occurrence, for over a month, it could be sign they are up to something. Likewise, if a work project (which you never previously heard mentioned) becomes a constant excuse for more than a month, instinct might be right.

Adulterers often concoct stories involving their assistance to a friend. It eases the guilt of a lie and makes it seem as if they are doing good. They essentially want to throw you off scent as much as possible.

    6. Name-Dropping:

Has your partner been unconsciously been bringing up someone's name in conversation? Praising another endlessly? Analyzing or critiquing a colleague or friend on a continuing basis?

These are all signs your spouse could have intentions toward another. Of course, the unconscious mentioning of someone several times in conversation relative to work, does not signify cheating per say, however it could mean your partner is thinking about that person in a far deeper way. Over-criticism or analysis of someone often signifies possible feelings. We see it in playground bullies who use name-calling to get the attention of someone they have designs on, pretending they dislike them so their true feelings do not become evident. In the same way, a partner may excessively and negatively criticize someone because they are attracted to them, discouraging any doubts you may have.

    7. Evasive Behavior:

Evasive behavior relates to any avoidance of conversation, subject or places. Adulterers almost always seek to avoid confrontational situations with partners because they are afraid of being questioned. They are scared they may "slip up" and be "found out".

Similarly, a partner may actively avoid places to evade the possibility of bumping into someone they had/ are having an affair with. This may be somewhere you both went regularly such as a pub or restaurant, or it could relate to a work event or occasion you have both been invited to.

Your partner may adopt social avoidance, declining any invitations or events altogether (especially if the person they are cheating with is a close friend). By doing so they avoid any potential risk of being found out. Cheats often perceive any attention they pay to another to be blindingly obvious to a partner, therefore try to avoid such situations, especially if it is likely you and their "bit on the side" will be in close proximity at a party or friend's house.

    8. Aggression and Distance:

A cheat often becomes so wrapped up in the guilt resulting from their actions that they cannot contain the conflict of emotions within. This often presents itself in unexplained outbursts of anger at the slightest thing. Anger is usually directed at you because your partner thinks this is the best way of pushing you away, lessening the likelihood of you getting hurt.

Emotional distance is common amongst adulterers. They may be unable to deal with guilt, or simply cannot connect with you because of their deceit eating away at them. Guilt manifests and your partner becomes distant, contemplating what to do or how to rectify things. They may avoid conversation, intimacy or being in the same room as you just to keep from blurting out the truth or "snapping" at you.

    9. Overly Affectionate/ Nice Behavior:

Guilt does funny things to people, and while a cheat may be safe in the knowledge that you don't have a clue what they've been up to, they still feel the need to create diversion by indulging you with gifts, affection and intimacy. In their mind, it eases the pain of guilt, and "keeps you sweet" so you don't pick up on any dodgy behavior. Some use this as a way of silent apology, despite still continuing to be unfaithful.

    10. It's Not You, It's Me:

An age-old "get out" phrase which is still popularized by adulterers. If they suddenly choose to end your relationship without valid reason, or blame commitment issues, it could signify deeper reasons, such as wanting to be with someone else.

Of course there are many subtle indications that a partner could be cheating, from questionable body language, excessive tiredness and low libido, to the less subtle such as physical marks on the body, missing clothes and personality changes. You may feel as sneaky and deceitful as your partner, but it's important to do your homework before throwing accusations. If you can legitimately apply several of the examples outlined in the list, then it's time to confront them. Good luck!
