The Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Malik Kweku Baako, says he does not believe that NDC National Chairman Dr Kwabena Adjei is capable of scheming to kill any member of the Judiciary.

However, he said, the party chairmanís comments that the Chief Justice should clean the Judiciary or the NDC would clean it for her could evoke passions and get some people who want their own form of justice to do so in a way that could put the lives of members of the Judiciary into jeopardy.

Speaking on Metro TVís Good Morning Ghana programme Thursday, Kweku Baako stated that it was within the NDCís right to articulate concerns if they feel hard done by the rulings by the Judiciary but said the manner in which Kwabena Adjei went about it was highly irresponsible.

He added that the issue had generated much heat and controversy because people feel uncomfortable when the Judiciary - which is supposed to be independent - is threatened, criminalised, bastardised and scandalized especially by politicians.

Though the NDC chairman has tried to explain what he meant when he made his comments, Mr Baako believes Dr Adjeiís post-facto rationalisations are rather worsening the case, advising that he apologises to the Judiciary and Ghanaians in general for the matter to be put to rest.

Meanwhile, Kweku Baako is worried about the reverse effect of this issue on the outcome of rulings of cases the Attorney General has vowed to appeal, that should those rulings go in favour of the ruling government, it would be easy for people to rationalise it by saying the Judiciary has been cowed into submission by the NDC government.
