In trying to engineer a move to Real Madrid this summer, Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor has claimed Jose Mourinho is the best coach he's ever worked with - above Arsenal's Arsene Wenger and City boss Roberto Mancini.

The Togo forward grew increasingly unhappy at Eastlands last season, spending the second half of the campaign on loan in Madrid under the Portuguese.
And Adebayor - who spent three-and-a-half years under Wenger and another 18 months under Mancini - has made no secret of his desire to return on a permanent basis, singing Mourinho's praises.

'He is the best coach I've worked with,' the 27-year-old said.
'He gave me confidence and made me believe in myself and I enjoyed my football again.'
Adebayor also said he expects to receive an offer from Madrid this summer, with City expected to be ready to sell the striker just two years on from signing a five-year contract following his 25million move from the Gunners.

'We talked before we went on vacation. [Mourinho] said he wanted me to stay,' continued the former City skipper, who has been left at home for City's pre-season tour of North America.
'If he called me right now, I would catch the first plane out to Los Angeles.

'I am training twice a day, I am working on my dream and I do not want another exit other than to return to Real Madrid.
'I am waiting on the call and hopefully it will happen because if I could play three or four years in Madrid, I would retire with that club.'
