KEVIN-PRINCE BOATENG will cost Portsmouth 2million by snubbing Stoke and West Ham to join Italian side Genoa.

Boateng is a target for Stoke boss Tony Pulis and has also held talks with Hammers chief Avram Grant about following him to Upton Park.

The Ghanaian World Cup hero is also wanted by Lazio but favours a move to Genoa because they are prepared to meet his bumper 40,000-a-week wage demands.

Genoa are only willing to pay 2m - HALF what Stoke and Lazio have offered - but Portsmouth will be forced to accept the offer to remove Boateng from their payroll.

Boateng, who missed a penalty in Pompey's FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea in May, said: "I am relaxed and preparing, just waiting for the right team.

"I can choose where to play after the World Cup where we could have played the semi-finals.

"I am ready to express my talent anywhere I can play."
