Default Sammy Adjei Completes Hearts of Oak Move

Former Ghana goalkeeper Sammy Adjei has agreed a two-year deal with local side Hearts of Oak.

According to the club’s official newspaper, the 29-year-old has agreed personal terms with the club after disagreements over his financial package stalled a much-publicized switch last term.

Adjei is making a return to competitive football after two years of clublessness.

His return is seen by many as very timely as the country has been battling for a second top class goalkeeper for the senior national team the Black Stars.

But he would face stiff opposition from youngster Daniel Adjei and Hapoel Tel Aviv-bound Stephen Ahorlu.

He was second choice gloves man for Ghana at the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations on home soil.

We already have Stephen Ahorlu and Daniel Agyei so we are not battling for a second goal keeper. As a matter of fact, we are looking for a third goalkeeper cos Richard Kingson will soon be retired form the squad. Ahorlu and Agyei are the second and first respectively. Maybe Agyei can gun for the third position but in my honest opinion, i think Summy is on his way to retirement too.

He didn't do too badly i hear in the top 4 against Aduana. You have a point there, Sammy would have been a great successor to Kingson.
