Thread: Why won't God heal amputees ?

Default Why won't God heal amputees ?

A brilliant read and I challenge any christian to debunk it -in fact it already takes into consideration many scenarios of christian response. So then.. what do christians think of this? How much more proof could someone need?

For this experiment, we need to find a deserving person who has had both of his legs amputated. For example, find a sincere, devout veteran of the Iraqi war, or a person who was involved in a tragic automobile accident.

Now create a prayer circle like the one created for Jeanna Giese. The job of this prayer circle is simple: pray to God to restore the amputated legs of this deserving person. I do not mean to pray for a team of renowned surgeons to somehow graft the legs of a cadaver onto the soldier, nor for a team of renowned scientists to craft mechanical legs for him. Pray that God spontaneously and miraculously restores the soldier's legs overnight, in the same way that God spontaneously and miraculously cured Jeanna Giese and Marilyn Hickey's mother.

If possible, get millions of people all over the planet to join the prayer circle and pray their most fervent prayers. Get millions of people praying in unison for a single miracle for this one deserving amputee. Then stand back and watch.

What is going to happen? Jesus clearly says that if you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. He does not say it once -- he says it many times in many ways in the Bible.

And yet, even with millions of people praying, nothing will happen.

No matter how many people pray. No matter how sincere those people are. No matter how much they believe. No matter how devout and deserving the recipient. Nothing will happen. The legs will not regenerate. Prayer does not restore the severed limbs of amputees. You can electronically search through all the medical journals ever written -- there is no documented case of an amputated leg being restored spontaneously. And we know that God ignores the prayers of amputees through our own observations of the world around us. If God were answering the prayers of amputees to regenerate their lost limbs, we would be seeing amputated legs growing back every day.

i really like this kinda challenging question, and i've seen people ask them on youtube... it takes a real Christian(someone who is devoted to understanding who God is and ready to not only be his son but also a friend) to answer this question on why God wont heal amputees.. and it take someone ready to understand it to really know why... First of all God is God and he is omnipotent, he chooses what to do and what not to do, and he always do thing in your best interest...he knows which prayer to answer and which one not to answer. We have no right to ask God why he chooses not to answer any prayer and not others... And secondly God is really gud to as all in so many ways that mankind turn to forget in times of trouble and when God is not answering your prayer... Now a christian who reads and understands the Bible knows that when Jesus said pray to his father in heaven for he answers all prayers, he means prayer with a purpose and no selfish prayer.

Firstly lets think of it this way, have you prayed in times of needs that God should let you win the lottery and you kept playing and you never won, the obvious reason is that God mostly does not answer selfish prayers and prayers without purposes... Have you even thought of what would have happened after God had healed those amputees. Do we even know if God has a special purpose for them and thats why he did not heal them... One of ma friends always said, 'Do not limit the hand of God.' because God can surely do anything for you and the sad truth is God does not do what we want but rather what we need. God does not give his children what they don't need because they are likely lead into temptation and they end up loosing their faith. I always assume God does not love to watch his people sit in wheel chairs, but if that what they need and not what they want, then i think God loving them so much will not heal them... reasons because he is God and wants you to gain salvation and he will never aid in your destruction.

The guy at www.whywontGodhealamputees.com surely went to the Bible and found some quotations for his argument and obviously did not read the Bible to understand it. ITs kind of funny how some atheist search through the bible and find some verses to support their statements and end up confusing a lot of people who really don't spend time to read the bible to understand who God really is, and why he does certain things.. And what we end up forgetting is dat, all these verses don't really stand along and God used them to send a really significant message across, which these unbelievers end up Ignoring.

Am not saying its bad for you to have any doubt about any kind of religion including Christianity, but always be careful how you ask your questions so you dont end up blaspheming because God has already said its one unforgiving sin. And who know, one day you might end up understanding everything the Bible is saying, and thats when you will realize you shouldn't have called the Bible extremely uncalled for names like 'nonsense'.

And just to finish your question with the fact that, even if you assemble 2 million of the world most Holy(Christians) people to pray for amputees like you said in your question, then what you should realize is that, they pray to seek a favor from God, but deep within them, they know God is only going to do what is best for the person. So they don't end their prayer with so much hatred for god because God didn't heal the amputee to show the whole world that he exist. God will not prove a point when he don't need to, and surely will when he need to or even want to. the key here is that he always does all things for the good of mankind.

First, let's make the proposition that god is all knowing, so can hear your prayers, and all powerful, so can change things in your favor. Now, obviously the most obvious fallacy straight of is that if he knows the future is he powerful enough to change it?

But let's assume that this is not a fallacy. Let's assume he can answer it. But again, only because you prayed. Is this to say if you didn't pray he would have changed the world? Again, runs into the same omniscient omnipotent paradox that we had to ignore in the first place to come to this; if he changes, then he is not all knowing.

Also, i find it very egocentric to think that god will change anything because a mortal, one of six billion, asked him to. And obviously if he heard but did not answer, then what's the use praying?

    God certainly cannot heal amputees!

ok first of all this challenge is being establish on foundation of god who is separated from human beings...... who is somewhere in the sky sitting on some throne ..... now there is a lot of qualities and aspects of the relationship between the human being and the single entity separated from the human being:god in this case ...... all these come into factor when u pray on when we pray and the results u receive or not receive.....

example .... can a human being genuinely levitate ????
can someone pray to god to levitate ....

now im not talking about these magicians we see on tv but there have been documented eastern monks who have done this......

now all im saying in this is that such feats cannot be brought about through the mind ..... these require a certain state and purity of thoughts ..... and so billions and billions can gather but if there dont get into the required knowing, purity of thoughts and state well then i guess the healing of disease will be their climax.

You are indeed a wise person. Thanks for sharing, but many have read it and are still in the state of confusion due to their unwillingness to open their hearts to what is true. Suffice to say that even if God heals all the amputees in the world it will not change their hearts, whose hearts--the skeptics.

well souls choose the body the will like to work with according to their agenda ........ if the current state of the body does not meet the soul's agenda or prevents the soul in fulfilling its agenda in anyway, the body will be discarded ........ wat we call death ....... a child born blind or with one leg is clearly not an accident but a carefully planned out situation ......

the soul's perspective is quite different from the mind's perspective and what the mind see as not whole or incomplete may not be how the soul sees it and at the end of the day, the soul has the final say when it comes time to be born into relativity(world) or depart from it(die) ...... amputees are not healed because maybe the soul does not see that condition as in need of healing and actually a perfect condition in exploring and accomplishing its agenda.
statistics are what other people have chosen to make real.
