According to UK sources and Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport-Stadio, Juventus officials may soon decide to approach Manchester City for Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor.(Manchester City are having a fire sale)

However, this appears to be just a ploy orchestrated by Juve's experienced general manager Giuseppe Marotta. In fact, as the search for a new striker continues, his real targets remain Diego Forlan (Atletico Madrid) and Giampaolo Pazzini (Sampdoria). Adebayor may be therefore used as a diversion to make other clubs interested in Forlan and Pazzini believe he is no longer interested in them.

In the meantime, the previously tracked Marco Borriello (AC Milan), Alessandro Matri (Cagliari) and Edin Dzeko (Wolfsburg) are no longer in Juve's plans since they are not for sale this year.
