Default We Would Not Rest Until Nana Konadu Becomes President Of Ghana

Despite several rebuffs by former President J. J. Rawlings and his wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings that the latter would not contest the President, John Evans Atta Mills at the congress of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), banners of the former First Lady are already out in the major streets of the capital city of Accra and all the other regional capitals of the country!

The banner which has the picture of the former First lady also bears the logo of the ruling NDC. Though the banner does not have any inscription to show whether or not she would be contesting for her Partys flagbearership, the NDC footsoldiers sought to once again project the image and name of Mrs. Agyeman Rawlings with a New Year message.

Interestingly, just like the poster that emerged some few months back, the banners were hanged all over the country on the eve of Sunday, January 9, 2011 between the hours of 8 pm and 10pm at all the regional capitals by the various regional branches of the NDC footsoldiers.

The banners which are bodily displaced at the Achimota overhead bridge and the 37 Military hospitals have the inscription: This Year, We The (NDC) FOOTSOLDIERS wish everyone in Ghana a New Year filled with hope for the future because of our new expectations. A hopeful New Year for a bright future.

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Searchlight newspaper, the National President of the group in Kumasi, who only gave his name as Amamuo, said our dream for the former First Lady to run in the 2012 election on the ticket of the NDC is still alive.

The leader of the group swore to defend the actions of the NDC footsoldiers, adding that they were hopeful the former First lady was aware of their actions and were sure she would listen to their demand. We would not rest until Nana Konadu becomes the President of Ghana. Even if the party would lose power in 2012, we cant afford to see President Mills and his Vice leading the Party again in 2012, he stressed.

Liars ! Didn't they deny those earlier posters which surfaced a while back with Nana Konadu Agyeman for President on them ?
