The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is happy to note that at the President's Forum with Editors of Media Houses in Ghana held on Friday, 7th January, 2011, His Excellency the President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills paid glowing tribute to the contribution of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to the development of the country.

We wish to thank His Excellency the President for the recognition accorded the work of the GFA and the demonstration of his commitment to continuing to support the FA in the execution of its mandate.

We wish to recall that since January, 2009 Professor Mills has been at the forefront of various Government interventions and support for Football. These include but not limited to the gold winning feat of the National Under 20 team at the 2009 World Youth Championship in Egypt, Silver medals at the 2009 CHAN Championship, the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola and the quarter final feat of the Black Stars at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

As a former Sports Administrator, His Excellency has shown a personal interest in the GFA through his wise counsel, expression of insightful views on topical issues about football, and support for programmes of the GFA, among others.

We have enjoyed an excellent working relationship with the President and wish to state our commitment to supporting His Excellency in the pursuit and execution of his laudable agenda for the development of football in our country.

We wish to use this occasion to solicit the support of all Ghanaians for GFA to carry out its mandate of promoting and developing the game in Ghana.
