Ghanaian fetish priestess, Patricia Aseidu AKA “Nana Agradaa” has called on the Film Producers Association of Ghana to see to it that the roles of fetish priests are portrayed fittingly in their movies.

According to Nana Agradaa, though some fetish priests have lamented over how their jobs are being portrayed in movies in previous years, nothing has changed and she has decided to offer free education to film producers and directors on the true state of the fetish priest job.

The spiritual woman in a chat with Razz Newspaper complained about the type of set design used for the priests and shrines in movies, how the actors dress as priests and some languages they speak when there are suppose to be in character.

She hinted that such portrayals are all wrong ways of showcasing them (Fetish priests) which is not helping the growth, understanding and appeal of the job.

“I have not watched any Ghanaian movie and seen a fetish priest winning again a pastor which tells that the movies are always giving wrong education to the public, fetish priests do win against pastors most of the time, just like we have fake pastors, we do have fake priests also, if the movies are portraying the fake priests then it will be better they let the viewers know,” she noted.

Nana Agradaa lamented that the most painful aspect is that, you watch Ghanaian movies and you see a fetish priest's character dancing Azonto, Alkayida etc which also doesn't make sense to her because in all seriousness, it doesn't happen in their trade.

Speaking about the effect it has on the society, she said that it makes certain persons in the society think that all their problems are caused by fetish priests which is also not true.

She suggested that everyone needs to learn and know the truth about their work so that they can make the right choices but not to impose the wrong education to the public through movies.
