Default Pride and Prejudice-a version for blacks

This Jane Austen masterpiece about unrequited and misunderstood love has a cult following in the publishing world. To date I have read about 3 versions that connect to the Darcy's and Bennett's saga. One had a vampire theme another had a following on the offspring of Mr. Darcy and Lizzy.

How about one that animates black life in the 1800's in England. Would it be possible anthropologically? Could there have been blacks in the British army back then? Could there have been a black clergyman or even a semi-poor family living in the countryside like the Bennett's. How about marriage, was it legal for blacks in England.

Any input would be much appreciated.

all go to the same place ;all come from dust and to the dust all return. who knows if the human spirit rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?
