Default OMG! Nadia Buari Uses Male Restroom At The Airport

One of the country’s finest actress, Nadia Buari, is said to have performed a most shocking act in tropical Africa, when she strutted into the male restroom at the Kotoka International Airport on two separate occasions to do her own thing, even though sources say there was a pictogram of a man on the door clearly indicating she had entered the wrong ‘room’.

The inexplicable behavior by arguably one of Ghana’s best screen divas, occurred last Saturday, December 18, 2010 at about 7am.

Ohenenana Kwame Amo aka “Barman” revealed this on his “Akika kika” or IT IS ALLEGED segment on Okay FM’s “Ekwanso Dwo Dwo” hosted by the talented and indefatigable Gilbert Abeiku Santana Aggrey on Monday, December 20.

This programme highlights mostly news from the grapevine, albeit on a lighter note.

Kwame Amo, quoting unnamed sources, said the actress, who was in the company of another renowned Ghanaian actor, Majid Michel, mistakenly or deliberately used the lavatory of the opposite sex whiles waiting to board a flight to Kumasi.

Majid was said to be at the counter ensuring that their departure formalities went smooth-sailing, when Nadia did the unthinkable. The alleged ex-lover of soccer superstar, Michael Essien, and daughter of former president of Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Alhaji Sidiku Buari, confirmed the incident in an interview with Abeiku Santana on Okay FM.

“Yes it is true I entered the male wash room twice at the Kotoka International Airport but it was all a mistake… and there was no-one in there…,” she said.

The “Checkmate” actress, who was wearing a pair of blue jeans with a floral purple top, in a purple heeled shoe to match, explained that she thought it was a ‘unisex’ restroom. Spotting a designer shades with her hair tied stylishly at the back, the actress recounted that she “first entered the male wash room unknowingly to dress up her hair and went back on the second occasion to treat her eye with an eye drop.”

It was not until as she was exiting the common room on the second occasion when a janitor approached her and prompted her that she had ‘used’ the male lavatory that she realized what she had done.

Nadia, who felt the issue had been blown out of proportion, however apologized to her numerous fans and Ghanaians for her error and promised not to repeat it.

Public toilets are commonly separated by gender into male and female facilities, although some can be unisex, particularly the smaller or single occupancy types. There are pictograms enclosed within standard forms to reinforce this information, with a circle representing a women’s toilet and a triangle representing a men’s facility.

“Akika kika” or IT IS ALLEGED airs from the Ship House based Accra radio station, Okay FM, every weekday between the hours of 3-5pm. Just tune in and catch the latest ‘filla’ in town.
