The Supreme Court and High Courts in the country will soon allow full media access to transmit the proceedings live.

According to Chief Justice, Mrs. Georgina Theodora Wood, the judiciary is collaborating with the Government of Brazil to begin the initiative.

“The lesser courts will be allowed to delay broadcast of all their proceedings in the effort to ensure transparency,” said Mrs. Theodora Wood.

She said the move will also help improve the quality of justice and allay the fears of the public on the delivery of justice.

The Chief Justice made these remarks when the newly elected executives of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) paid a courtesy call on her .

Ghana first allowed cameras into the courts in the just ended election petition case, and has since received world-wide commendation for the move.
