The acting skipper of the Black stars, John Mensah, says their disappointing draw with Sudan is as a result of hard luck, maintaining the team did all they could to get the three maximum points.

John, who was speaking on Asempa FM, was full of praise for the fans that filled the stadium to capacity, and said the Black Stars players have always enjoyed playing at the Baba Yara sports stadium and that it was very disappointing they could not make the fans happy with a win.

The acting skipper accused the Sudanese goalkeeper of simulation and delay tactics that disorganized their game. He pointed out that the Sudanese came with a game plan to play a defensive game to frustrate the team through inferior tactics.

He said both the playing body and the technical team are responsible for the draw on Sunday and that no one should be singled out for blame.

On Gyan’s red card, John Mensah came to the defense of his Sunderland team mate, stressing that Gyan was pushed by one of the Sudanese players on the blind side of the referee and when he retaliated, the referee saw it and sent him off for an early shower.

Ghana still top’s Group I with a better goal difference with Sudan on the same point.

Let's pray for a draw at worst against Congo.
