The government has bagged more than $14 million as non-tax revenue in three months from the implementation of the International Call Gateway Monitoring Project to block the use of fraudulent means by telecom operators to deny the state of needed revenue.

Mr lddrisu did not immediately mention the sanctions to be meted out to those found culpable but described such acts as unfortunate and asked the operators to desist from the practice.

He said Africa stood the chance of bagging more than $1 billion through the implementation of such projects as started in Ghana, adding that the move could help save funds to enhance Africa's accelerated development.

"I admit that the implementation of the project comes with some challenges but who remain resolute to ensure that as the process continues, the government would be better off," he added.
