AS THE race to fill the vacant Ghana coaching position heats up, a former Black Stars trainer Giussepe Dossena insists he is the right person to replace Serbian Milovan Rajevac.

The Italian national, noted for his disciplinary attitude, said he could lead Ghana football to higher heights if he was given the nod to steer the affairs of the Black Stars.

Coach Dossena, who was in Kumasi to recruit young talents, made the disclosure when some sports journalists asked whether he was interested in the vacant Ghana coaching job.

Based on his track record, in particular his success story with the Black Stars, he stressed that he was the right choice for Ghana, but refused to state whether he would officially apply for the position.

Describing Ghana as his second home, the Italian coach who is currently into scouting and development of young talents, said it would be prudent for the GFA to name him Ghana coach.

Young players who are good would be given the opportunity to display their talents which could lead to them becoming world super stars soon, he noted.

The ex-Ghana coach visited the Anokye Stars training grounds at State Boys where he watched the colts team play and later watched another training session of selected young and talented players at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Coach Dossena has since left the country but sources said he would return soon to vie for the Black Stars coaching job.
