Reggae musician Blakk Rasta, born Abubakar Ahmed, is set for what is
being described as a huge comeback after his last ‘Naked Wire’ album
with an Obama song gained him some prominence on the world music
scene.

His latest is titled ‘Born Dread’ and would be launched with an
anticipated huge event at the Airport West Hotel in Accra tomorrow
Saturday May 7 from 7pm till late night. The event is being promised to be an eye-catching one as there would be interesting side attractions and likely performances by the Rasta icon who is also a presenter on Hitz Fm.

The event is also expected to gather some of the crème de la crème of
Ghana’s entertainment industry, with majority coming from the music
arena. The 16-track album will be his seventh studio album and it has tracks like ‘Bobby’ and ‘Dem Pose’.

Rumours say unlike the last album which was eulogizing President of
US, Obama, the new one has songs warning the president about the war
situation in Libya. He calls on Obama to move out of Libya and not soil his hands with innocent blood, calling the war on Libya an oil war and a hypocritical war.

He queries why there is racial discrimination in America. To Obama, he
reportedly said, “Now is the time to put on your African thinking cap
and invoke the spirit of Africania.” Some of the songs talks about how “Government prefers to spend on beauty contests and bikini shows relegating the children, our future leaders, to the background.”

Blakk Rasta made a splash in 2008 with his controversial and popular
single, ‘Barack Obama’ on his ‘Naked Wire’ album. The single thrust
him onto the international scene and was featured on many media
outlets, including CNN.
