The premises of the Chemu Senior High School in the Tema metropolis was on Wednesday turned into a funeral ground following the sacking of a number of students from the examinations hall for defaulting in the payment of their school fees.

According to our scouts at the scene of the event, the students who numbered about fifty were part of the final year candidates who were taking part in the Oral English examination yesterday morning when they were sacked by their headmistress, Mrs. Felicia Esimekore.

She was alleged to have remembered while in her office that some of the candidates owed the school when she quickly dashed into the examination hall and sacked the defaulters.

Even those who are said to owe as low as 20 Pesewas school fees were disallowed from taking part in the Oral English examination.
The headmistressí decision to disallow the students from taking part of the examination nearly resulted in some physical exchanges when some of the affected students challenged that indeed they had fully paid their school fees and therefore, they donít owe the school in any way. As a result of this the headmistress took them to the school bursar to ascertain the truth before finally allowing them to take part in the examination.

This delayed the exams. When the 'Daily Searchlight' visited the school premises yesterday afternoon in an attempt to speak to the headmistress about the matter we were told she was not available.
