Hip-hop star Nate Dogg died Tuesday after battling health issues for several years ... TMZ has confirmed.

Nate Dogg -- real name Nathaniel D. Hale -- had survived strokes in 2007 and 2008 ... and was famous for his smooth vocal collaborations with Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Warren G. and Dr. Dre to name a few.

The Press Telegram in Nate's hometown of Long Beach, CA first reported his death late Tuesday night.

Nate was 41 years old.

Nate Dogg is the greatest when it comes to pure unadulterated vocals. No autotune required when recording with Nate Dogg.SAD SAD SAD !

I remember cruising down the 105 bopping to REGULATE (Warren G ft Nate Dogg) dang! they don't make music like this no more :(

Fair well bro. Love your voice and thanks for adding more taste to Tupac's music. He loved your voice and style thats why you were on several on his tracks..

If I remember how "REGULATE" came about from Warren G side. He said they (he and Nate Dogg) were really broke and hungry & Tupac came to them with a preposition that he's acting in a new movie (Above the Rim) and he wants them to come up with a sound track. Boom 'regulate' was born and history as they say was made..
