The President of Musicians Association of Ghana, NUSIGA, Diana Hopson says some husbands of female musicians who end up being their producers are, “dream killers”.

Mrs. Hospon said some of these husbands have succeeded in killing the dreams of some Ghanaian female artistes both in the Gospel and the secular sector.

The MUSIGHA President was speaking to Adom News about the 100th International Women's Day celebrations which fell on Tuesday, 8th March 2o11.

One of the dangerous things any female entertainers can do is to combine their marital lives with their profession by allowing their husbands to manage them. She says one stands the risk of jeopardizing either her family or her profession, saying that there are some few persons who succeeded in effectively combining the two.

She stated that whenever there is a problem in the marriage, it affects the profession of such female artistes and the vice versa when they are being managed by their husbands.

The president of MUSIGA intimated that the men usually tend to dominate the decision process when it comes to management, even if the decision may not be in the interest of the artiste. She tells Adom entertainment news that most female musicians have faded out of the industry due to such conflicts of interest.

According to Dina, her former husband, Reverend Akiwumi (now deceased) used to be her manager and at a point she had to sacrifice her carrier for her marriage due to misunderstandings between the two.

She explained that in spite of the sacrifices she made, she later went through a divorce adding it took the grace of God for her to get this far.

Mrs. Hopson urged women to maximize their potentials and defy all odds so that they can impact positively on society. She stated that women should not be intimidated by their gender, saying that both male and female are all creatures of God.
