Entertainment powerhouse, Charter House, has outdoored 12 contestants for the fifth season of its music reality show, Stars of the Future, Thursday.

The show which has been in inception since 2006 has over the years produced some of the country’s young powerful voices who have cemented their names in the Ghanaian music industry. Names that easily come to mind include Irene Logan, Efya and Bertha.

The contestants were outdoored at a well-attended ceremony at the plush GhOne studios, the new home for Charter House.

The 12 finalists are; Abigail Bih, Asantewaah Essel, Daniella Dankwah-Coffie (Niiella), David De-Graft Crentsil, Elizabeth Joseph, Emmanuel Yawson, Grace Ocansey, Henry Nuamah, Kwame Wiredu, Rauhel Halidou Yacouba, Reynolds Kwame Addow and Wiyaala Noela.

The 12 were selected from hundreds of hopefuls from across the length and breadth of the country who turned up for the auditioning for the fifth season of the reality show.

The hopefuls were initially cut down to 30. The 30 subsequently went through a final auditioning process on Saturday February 13 this year at the Sammy Helwani’s Mastermix Studios where the final 12 were selected.

Organisers also used the occasion to outdoor judges for this season’s show. The season’s judges; Zapp Mallet, Doreen Andoh and Kiki Banson, are already well-established and familiar names of the show.

Also in attendance at the outdooring event were some of the winners and contestants of the past seasons of the show. Well-known names such as Efya, Adina, Bertha, Christian and Irene Logan were in attendance.

Irene Logan advised the 12 finalists to believe in themselves and also see each other not as enemies but competitors.

Season 5 of the Stars of the Future reality show will run for 13 weeks and it includes 10 weeks of ‘painful’ evictions.
