This book describes the conflict between old and new in its most poignant aspect: the personal struggle between father and son.

Just laid hands on this book by Chinua Achebe. Fashionista have you read it ?

I've been told the author is one of the finest from Africa.

No, i wish i could say yes but I agree with those who told you about this great African. What I know about him is that he grew up with Joseph Conrad(a European writer whose novels reflected the expansion of the British Empire in Africa, almost all his depictions of blacks were negative) as his literary hero but later in his studies he began to see that while he viewed the heroic characters as just that heroic. The world viewed Conrad's books as proof that Africa is savage. So began Chinua Achebe's foray into writing about Nigeria as he knows it.
