View Full Version : Robber Recites Psalm 23

22nd December 2010, 11:36 PM
A man arrested for car-jacking resorted to reciting the famous Psalm 23 in the Bible when, in reversal of roles, the police put him in place of the robbery victim and jokingly pointed his own gun at him.

Mark Adase, 35 a driver, arrested for snatching a Mercedes Benz car form its owner at gun-point, was put at the receiving end of the gun threat and he set his interrogators rocking with laughter when he started praying: The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want…”
The drama happened yesterday at the Kpeshie Division of the Police at Nungua in Accra where Adase and David Tsegah, 30, also a driver have been arrested for robbing Emmanuel Berko, a businessman resident at Coastal Estates on the Spintex Road.

Chief Superintendent Slim Opoku Manford, the Divisional Commander told the Times newspaper that on December 18, Adase and Tsegah attacked Berko in front of his house at about 7:30p.m. at gunpoint and drove off his car, his five year-old son, two mobile phones and a wallet containing GH˘150.00.

They put the child down at a distance and sped off.
With the assistance of a motor-bike rider, Mr. Berko pursued the robbers and got them arrested when they got stuck in traffic at the Kotobabi Junction on the Spintex Road. Mr. Berko raised the alarm and the two robbers abandoned the car and took to their heels.

Adese was arrested but Tsegah escaped. Following his arrest, Adese led the police to the hide out of Tsegah who was picked up the following day.

Chief Superintendent Manford said information available to the police indicates that David Tsegah is the cousin of Mathias Tsegah, a notorious armed robber who was killed recently in Accra during a robbery expedition.
