Former Attorney General Martin Amidu has dragged government to court over unpaid ex-gratia due him.

A source at the Attorney Generalís Department told Citi News, Mr. Amidu filed the suit on July 30th.

The suit, according to the former AG, is praying the court to compel government to pay all monies due him.

According to the informant, Mr. Amidu is unhappy that his ex-gratia, salary arrears, as well as rent during the last few months of his tenure in office, has still not been paid.

Martin A. B. K. Amidu was relieved of his post as Attorney General and Minister of Justice in January 2012, in the wake of the Woyome scandal. A statement from the then Chief of Staff said Mr. Amidu was sacked for alleged misconduct.

He had previously held the position of Interior Minister under the same Mills government.

The case is expected to be called when the Superior Courts return from the legal vacation.
