Ghana defender David Addy scored and was named Man-of-the-Match on his debut for Vitoria Guimaraes in the Portugese top-flight.

The 22-year-old netted the solitary goal in Friday's 1-0 win over Moreirense away on 58 minutes.

His solidity at the back and lethal raids on the left-flank to provide pin-point crosses convinced the match assessors.

Addy sneaked behind the right-back and then followed up with rebound effort after the goalkeeper saved his goal bound shot.

The 2009 FIFA U20 World Cup winner arrived from Porto this summer in search of regular first team action.

He had very limited first team opportunities during his two-year stay with the Portuguese champions and as a result was twice farmed out on loan.

The ex Randers FC player finally decided to leave after he was excluded from the official Porto squad for this season.

Addy's return to first team action could enhance his chances of returning to the Black Stars.
