I kinda understand them better. Barrier breaking Africans in Europe n USA are few in this generation, so if they wanna take on that then they must look to the past:
SURYA BONALY a Ivorian descent woman in France who Figure Skated under the French flag........this woman did what few in the sport male or female could do n that is a back flip in her skates on ice! Yet she was rarely rewarded with gold medals.

The mention of Freddy Adu's name in the same sentence with Surya,Desailly and the rest of them is a travesty lololol Come on, Adu can't hold their jockstrap. However you made a salient point.

LOL you mean a "14" year old Ghanaian supposedly a child prodigy who did a commercial with the great Pele, dated a pop singer, refused to "grow" whiles the child stars of his era all matured into the big stars they were touted to be,who never made it anywhere despite the hype the US media spewed out, could not win anything not even a paper medal in international soccer can be mentioned with the greats like Marcel Desailly, who won a world cup with France among other achievements and Bonaly a 3x World Championship silver medalist and a 5x European Champ or Balotelli who is already on his way to becoming a great player and a big name super star though he lost a couple of his marbles ?

Still a travesty lolololol .....well the USA still awaits the growth of Adu.

I hope others learn from him that in the end u end up missing out on ur people and the change u could have brung them.......Desally is a prime example look at how he is investing in Ghana yet there is this non interest on the side of the people.....

I really wont blame these athletes who choose to suit up in the colors of other nations over Ghana considering how Ghanaians i'm sorry to say, treat their own. Those of us on the outside looking in shudder at the thought....

I agree with you,Yaa. The thought of what could have been when their careers are over will haunt them. But then like Pope said Ghana must work on bettering their approach to handling athletes during and after their careers. Playing for Ghana has lost it's luster.
