As a teen, I came across an ad in the magazine for National Society of Poetry and decided to submit a poem I had written for a class to try my luck at a 35,000 dollar prize. I did not win but rather I got to be in the printed edition of all those who entered the contest.

Published in an anthology called A DELICATE BALANCED, 1995

Tunnel of Love
Tunnel of love
Tunnel of love
Where art thy tunnel of love
Is thy love hidden in the mouth of a dove
Or is thy gone far and faraway to the bottom of the world, until hatred comes to its senses and depart
Come back tunnel of love
Come back
If only I could feel you then I might wait for your return

"hidden in the mouth of a dove,...bottom of the world" i like the symbolism here. Good job.

I can't decide
'Till I'm hidden
I'll search for you
Somewhere between your
Arms
and
Death
I'll find the meaning of life between
You
and
I

------I need help editing this one....I want to make it a simple 3 or 4 stanza poem but, anyway, any input is welcomed--------------------------

I can't see this being split into 3-4 stanzas. If the above is a unit within a larger poem then may be i can help.

Neo will pro'bly have a hissy-fit when he sees that Ive rehashed such an old thread but I like seeing the readership surpassing 300views.... Here is an old poem of mine

(untitled)
Passing time in this endless life
Never was I to dive
Into a pool of rust

may the renewal of life
condure emotion anew
might i examine the pain and find it few

honest renditions of love
may come and passerby
but nevermore the friendship's host

likened unto a bird
spreading wings in haste
likened unto trust, my memories fade

make these truths a part of mine
do you claim yours first
as my challenge of life is asunder

microphones spread the word
may i never silence another
these words i seek bring knowledge of an impassioned few

-----------------------I wrote this a long time ago in my journal, now that I read it again I just had to share it....more to come
