She is the silky voice behind most hit songs in Ghana from the 90s till date. Ghanaian music lovers all over the world have danced to her sweet voice but have no idea who she is or how she looks like.

Yvonne Ohene Djan popularly known in showbiz circles as SHE has decided to show her face to world in a movie instead of in a music video as expected. SHE played the lead role in a new Ghanaian movie titled “KWEIBA”.

Yvonne, who also doubles as the Executive Producer of the epic movie, has taken everyone by surprise with her splendid display of acting skills in spite of the fact that this is her first attempt in front of the camera after a successful career behind the microphone.

In an interview with Peacefmonline.com Yvonne said she has always wanted to do this but was just waiting for the right time and to her, this is the right time. “It has taken several years to come out with this movie and I hope Ghanaians enjoy and patronize it”.

KWEIBA which features an array of stars including; Media mogul Kwasi Kyei Darkwa (KKD), veteran actor David Dontoh, actress Emilia Brobbey, comedian and actor Clement Bonney aka Mr. Beautiful, Kobina Amisah Sam, Musician D-Flex among others, will be premiering at the National Theatre come Friday 30th March, 2012.

SHE will also launch her first single at the National Theater on the same day. Performing on the night are Kwabena Kwabena, Kwaisey Pee, Borax, Obour, Samini, Kofi B, Okyeame Kwame, Barima Sidney, Mzbel, Castro and most of the musician Shee has backed over the years.

Born in the 80s to Mr. Daniel Ohene Djan and Mrs. Elizabeth Aggrey the native of Akraman and Mankessim in the Central Region and also married but has no kids. She love cooking, watching movies, listening to music and dancing and derives her inspiration from God almighty and being motivated by challenges of life.

Her initial dream of singing came through with a youth choir in the latter house glory centre at the age of seven and then to Kidafest. After several years in the singing group God answered her prayers, she met a gospel singer named Rosemaine in 1995 and with her help she was able to take her first step into one of the best recording studio by Alhaji Sidiku Buari where she exhibited all that she had.

After her term with Alhaji Sidiku Buari for a while, she then move on to Skills Multimedia and also met jay Q, a sound engineer who gave her the opportunity to work with various artists like Latifa, Nkasai etc. and later was introduced by saint to the late Faisal Helwani where she spent two years and was part of the then Pop Chain of Faisal Helwani and that brought all her dreams to reality as a singer.

She also had the opportunity to tour the length and breadth of Ghana and overseas performing and recording with both local and foreign artists. She is now the C.E.O of Straight up Entertainment.

Yvonne has worked in the studio with almost every Producer (Sound Engineer) in Ghana, the likes of Freddimah,Saint Kamkam, Zap mallet, Hammer, Nacy, Sha, Kewya, Sammy Helwani, George forest, Kofi “U” Beat, Sugar tone, Big papa, Zola, Jay Master Jay (JMJ)etc.

Her sweet voice is behind several hit songs by Daddy Lumba, Kojo Antwi, Ofori Amponsah, Rex Omar, George Darko, Kwabena Kwabena, Samini, Okyeame Kwame, Obour, Tic Tac, Tinny, Obrafour, Barima Sidney, Kofi Nti, Kofi B, Kwaisey Pee, KK Fosu, Borax, Castro, Mzbel, Genevieve Nnaji, Nana Acheapong, Becca, Daasebre Dwamina, Reggie Rockstone, Rocky Dawuni, Lord Kenya and the list goes on.
