Marriage, the infantile barrier to the will.
Footprints of affection showered with snowflakes of desire.

Like a broken promise, consciousness rides on a breath of thought.

Delusion and illusion tamper with rational judgement
luring perception into a disarrayed stance.

Quest for happiness permeates the heart with
a sublime virtue sight cannot touch.

The heartbeat of man like a grey horizon
challenges "for better for worse".

Resolution throws in its own towel offering redemption
but pride rejects with the chime of time.

Lurking in the shadows, divorce smiles
paying tribute to the irony of "i do".

Love cries with sadness as drizzles of misery
tugs at the heartstrings.

With promises unfulfilled, marriage
moves on to inhabit new hearts.

Big up on the balance that you capture with marraige. As a person who was once married I know that this poem captures the aura of love, looming separation, but in the end the strength of marraige is unlike any other. BigUp!!!
