View Full Version : Accra Brewery supports Palladium Square Early Childhood Development Centre

Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), a subsidiary of SABMiller plc, as part of its corporate social investment activities, has donated some building materials to the Palladium Square Early Childhood Development Centre in Accra.

The items, which comprised 125 bags of cement and 500 cement blocks, were to support the centre, located in Ga Mashie, construct an 18 unit classroom block for the pupils of that school.

A statement issued on Monday by the company said the event which took place on the school’s premises was spiced up with interesting rendition of recitals in English, French and several Ghanaian languages by the children.

Madam Hannah Obo, Chairperson of the School’s Management Committee, recounted the cordial and beneficial relationship that existed between Accra Brewery and the school since the school’s inception about 40 years ago.

She recalled fondly numerous examples of support shown to the children by the Brewery, noting their Christmas parties in particular. Madam Obo added that, the company’s generosity compelled the school’s management to approach them for assistance, once again. ‘We highly appreciate your visit and gesture” she remarked.

Ms Adjoba Kyiamah, Legal and Corporate Affairs Director, Accra Brewery Limited, said “The company cares about the communities in which it operates and that is why we have always been willing to support the Palladium Square Early Childhood Centre. We couldn’t have chosen a more appropriate time than Christmas, the season of sharing, to demonstrate our commitment to the children of Ga Mashie.” she noted.

Ms Kyiamah affirmed that Accra Brewery Limited would be prepared to increase their level of support to enhance the lives of the children at the Palladium Square Early Childhood Centre when the need arises.

Present at the function were Mrs. Akasi Yawson, Manager, and Mrs. Kate Ackah, proprietress, of the school.
