The remains of the three members of a family burnt to death in their sleep on January 3, 2012 at Asylum Down in Accra have been laid to rest.

David Nii Teiko Ammah, 67, his wife Gifty Ammah, 51 and their daughter, Phoebe Ammah, 10, died when their rooms caught fire while they slept.

Wearing red and black traditional clothes, tearful sympathizers and family members gathered at the resident Thursday where rituals were performed by family heads.

The corpses were not brought to the house due to the severity of the burns.

A Government delegation, led by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Armah Ashietey, which also included the Mayor of Accra, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, Korle Klottey National Democratic Congress chairman, Harry Zakkour and some other NDC executives were there to sympathize with the bereaved family. They presented GH¢1,000.00 to the family to support the funerall.

The Minister in an interview called on Ghanaians to provide emergency exit points when putting up buildings.
