Have you ever wondered why you drink or why people drink alcohol? Shockingly the latest to join the list are children who are sent to buy alcohol from a pub or bar by their relatives or neighbours; they have been testing the drinks do you know?

A onetime manís world practice is being ventured by young women, funny enough some ladies use alcohol as a painkiller during menstrual period. Just like any other drug, alcohol is very addictive.

Excessive alcohol consumption can also cause stomach ulcers and gastrointestinal complications, as well as fertility problems, weight gain and depletion of certain vitamins and minerals in the body. Too much drinking can also increase ones blood pressure which is a risk factor for heart attack.


A 2007 World Cancer Research Fund report showed alcohol increase the risk of cancers of the mouth, pharynx, larynx, oesophagus, colon and ------.

Each gram of alcohol contains seven calories. If youíre watching your waistline, cutting down on alcohol will help to reduce calorie intake. Alcohol can also weaken your willpower, tempting you to eat more than you planned.

Alcohol is often referred to as a source of Ďempty caloriesí meaning it has no nutritional value other than providing energy. The energy provided by an alcoholic drink depends on the percentage of alcohol it contains, but also on the type of drink it is, for example a creamy liqueur will have more calories than a clear liqueur.

A creamy liqueur contains around 163 calories per 50ml serving (Wine Glass), a pint of lager or one large beer is about 215 calories, one tot/shot of spirit contains around 57 calories, but this doesnít include calories from the mixers lastly a standard glass of dry white wine or red wine is about 115 calories and sweet wine is about 165 calories.

For example if you should consume 3 large bottle of beer it means you are consuming 215 x 3 = 645 calories, then add your kebabs or meats to it add the calories of the meat, plus your carbohydrate and others you will add or eat during the day, without exercising you accumulate this calories in your body, stress your internal organs, which in return makes you fat at you waistline, and when you become obese complications will set in.
